Had a Speccy ages ago (small thing, plastic keys), terrible trouble
getting it to work. Much more fun hooking it to a 20kV supply and
attempting to build a photosensor circuit fast enough to actuate an SLR
when bits went pop. I don't know if the camera was slow or the solenoid
was slow, but it was never quite quick enough. Still, you can do some
damn interesting things with high voltage and a couple of spoonfuls of
mercury.
[ I'm surprised they ever let me in the physics lab, actually! ;-) ]

Breadbin C64? Nah, if I was going to build up a 6502 design, I'd run a
real OS on it.

It's very "r at re"! If you Google (dunno who Denis Gabor is, but cool
logo!) for "econet design and implementation", you'll find a heck of a
lot of links to other things. But Econet as in the one we know and love...?

Best wishes,

Rick.
