What!?

Tell me you didn't actually write that. Or is this some subtle irony
I've missed?

Don't make another search engine... like Google. [altavista]
Don't make another operating system/GUI... like Ubuntu. [windows]
Don't make another x86... like AMD. [intel]
Don't make another MP3 player... like Apple. [mpman]
Don't make another itty-bitty car... like Smart. [fiat]
Don't make another processor... like ARM. [intel, zilog, etc]
Don't make another 24h news channel... like SkyNews. [cnn]
Don't make another web-email service... like GMail. [yahoo! mail]
Don't make another browser... like Safari/Webkit. [mozilla/ie]
Don't make another programming language... like C#. [C,C++,<many>]

?

Just because something already exists doesn't mean it is automatically
the best, or even the most suitable for all people.

Frankly, the word here is CHOICE. Why the hell shouldn't somebody do a
project, even if it has been done before. As long as it isn't a direct
rip-off, it isn't a problem. It might only be Alan (and myself?)
scratching a personal itch. Sure, I might be able to _BUY_ a doo-hickey
to plug into my FileStore and let it talk to an SD card, but I think I'd
get a better understanding (more play value) out of _MAKING_ one.

If you don't understand what I mean, please visit www.6502.org and look
at the list of projects. What's the point? MiniB pretty much has it all
sewn up so why bother with others? Maybe because bothering it, itself,
the point. The journey, equal to the end result.

Best wishes,

Rick.
