Subject: Anyone have an Acorn "System" memory card?

Hi Alan,
Many thanks! That would be extremely kind of you, I'm very happy to pay
in addition to any postage costs - it would just be really nice to get the
system up and running. Luckily I do have quite a few 2114s that came from
a very old project at work a few years back, so these should still be good.
It's quite interesting that you're in Adelaide - I'm in Dorset in the UK,
but the company that I work for has just recently opened a branch at Mawsons
Lake which I guess isn't that far from you. I might even be travelling over
towards the back end of this year if they can't get some of our new sonar
electronics working! If you do find that you have something available, then
I could send you money via Paypal if that would be OK. Good luck with the
house renovations - we've just recently finished building an extension onto
our house and it's been a very busy year, especially with two young children
"helping out" !!
All the best,
Pete

Pete,
don't give up yet I haven't looked in my shed.

My System4 presently doesn't work and I haven't resolved why, I suspected
the memory boards of which there were two. I was trying to replace these
with a single one from Control Universal, using just 8K CMOS RAM chips for
the whole memory map on the one board, but so far that this hasn't worked
either. It might also be bit rot in the ROMS and I don't have images of these.

I also have a shoe box with a number of other cards I will look what there
is and let you know.

No money other than postage would have to change hands as I can't test or
have any confidence that what I send is working.

Adding a memory board to a working system would make it much easier to identify
a faulty RAM chip than having a system that won't boot at all in the fist
place. If I still had spare memory chips 2114 or what ever I would give
you some of them too.

We are about to start serious house renovations here so presently time is
in short supply for actually fixing stuff but I can look and let you know
what I have for a start.

I am in Adelaide, Australia, so I am guessing Air mail.

No worries guys - just worth a shout I though in case anybody had one. I
have an expanded system 1 (with acorn backplane etc) that I'd like to get
towards a system 3 if I could only find a ram card! I really want an old
one as I'd like to try and get as close to the original setup as poss.

Cheers,
Pete

Just a quick shout to see if anybody has an Acorn 8k or 32k ram eurocard
for the "System" backplane. I'm very happy to pay a good cash price, or I
do have a spare Atom FDC card as an exchange too. If anybody has anything,
or indeed any system cards, I'd be very grateful to know...
Cheers!
Pete
