This is getting a little off topic and I'm worried that the OT police
will come round and do my knee caps in the night ............

The "look and feel" of cars is different between manufacturers.

For example I can barely use the satnav in the wifes BMW, the indicators
are different, the CD player too etc etc. Equally, she had forgotten how
to turn the radio on in the LandRover the other day, or perhaps that's
just women and technology :-)

Oh no, what have I said ....... lol

When it comes to PCs, they may all run windows (or Linux or Mac OSX),
but you build them in different ways with components etc.

It is strange though that this doesn't seem to apply to some peoples
software, although I wonder if Apples case will stick .........

For a long time I've wondered why nobody's ever sued somebody for the
"idea" of controlling a moving vehicle with a steering wheel, clutch,
break and accellerator pedels, and why no court has ordered different
car manufacturer to implement different "look 'n' feel"s in their cars.
