Subject: [OT-ish] PC equivalent of Library

Well, what I do -- very much trying to emulate RiscOS -- is create a
directory, say, C:\System\Library, create an environment variable called
LIBRARY to point to it and then put %library% in the PATH variable. Now I
can call any COM, EXE or BAT file from anywhere, and get to the directory
quickly by typing CD %Library%.

I used to use 4DOS and add some commands like CAT, LIB, LIBCAT, LC etc to
make me feel more at home, but I don't bother these days, just because I
don't spend much time at the Command Prompt any more. But I do still have
an icon called Library on my desktop to take me there!
