Subject: Master 128 - Dodgy PSU

Hi all,

I was recently donated a nice privately owned Master 128 (no security marks!)
which I am now getting around to sorting out. I changed C1, C2 and C9 in the
PSU before firing up for the first time and I got mixed results. When switched
on for the first time nothing happens, even after several seconds. If I then
switch off and immediately back on again I get the comforting beeps and it works
fine. I swapped the PSU with a known-good one and the machine behaves itself
fine. Going back to the original PSU I get the same results. First time
switch-on there is nothing - no beeps for example. Then the second time, it
fires up and runs well.

My first thought was that the C9 I used was dodgy so I repleaced that again but
same results. As you can probably tell, I'm not a PSU expert...

Any suggestions please? Luckily I do have a "parts" PSU but I don't really know
what state it's in so don't want to start swapping parts at random just to see
if it helps...

Thanks in advance,
JohnA.
