Cafe with home-baked cakes and scones, soup and sandwiches. Victoria Spa Well House Chalybeate spa well,(cylindrical brick structure mid 19th c.) This Grade II listed building is worth seeing. Go there either day from 10.00 to 14.00. Flowergate United Reformed Church Built 1878 and improved in 1960 and 1990 opens 10.00-14.00 on Saturday only. Light refreshments available. Unitarian Chapel mid-18th century origin but present Chapel built 1812 has boxed pews and carved lectern. Open 11.00-15.00 both days. The church of St John the Evangelist Brunswick St. Built 1845-50, is open Saturday, 10.00-16.00 and Sunday, 12.30-15.30 St Ninian's on Baxtergate Built in 1778 by Whitby shipbuilders as a proprietary church. Box pews remain in gallery. Open 14.00-16.00 on Saturday and 11.30-13.00 on Sunday. Whitby Jet Heritage Centre Original 19th century jet workshop, discovered sealed in the attic of a derelict building in Burns Yard 2 Blackburns Yard. origins 17th century, refurbished in Georgian/Victorian times but not in recent years. Stone mullion windows, 17th c. wood panelling. Georgian fireplace, Cruck frame. Sat/Sun 11.00-13.00 and 14.00-16.00. Whitby 3 Yards event (Information at Clarks Yard, junction of Bridge St. and Church St) Whitby Yards are rows of 17th/18th c. cottages tucked behind main streets. Visit three yards together. YHA at Abbey House,adjacent to the Abbey Visitor Centre Grade I listed building, many historical features from 12th to 19th centuries preserved and displayed. Guided tours. Sat/Sun. 13.00-17.00. Walk is about 1 mile, mainly level or downhill, about 1 1/2 hours ending at Swing Bridge. Whitby Cragg Event. Formerly packed with fishermens cottages. Whitby Pavilion Theatre. Tours begin 13.00 and end at 15.00. Built 1880, patronised by Sir Henry Irving, Gerald Du Maurier and Bram Stoker. Guided tours behind scenes to restricted access areas with well-preserved original features with live actors helping to bring theatre to life. An exhibition presents the colourful History of Theatre in Whitby. Pavilion Complex Cafe will be open.
