[img] Using EEPROMs with the BBC/Master

It is possible to use EEPROMs with the BBC, Master and Electron (Electrically Erasable Programmable ROMs), but care has to be taken when writing to them. See these threads on the BBC Mailing List and Star Dot.

They have the advantage that they can be written to in situ, like sideways RAM, but retain their contents, like sideways ROM, without needing battery-backed RAM. They also have exactly the same footprint as a normal EPROM or SRAM so fit directly into the sideways ROM socket.
