Buggerbuggerbugger. No, I don't think the A/lib supports a play/stop
mode. I have a sinking feeling that it is on things like this I'm going
to get seriously out of my depth; I don't have much experience of machine
architecture and I really don't know what the O/S does and what it
doesn't do. Oh deary me...
