Subject: the screen

Sorry to interrupt your discussion on screens, but could I ask if any of
them will cope with Exile?

What Exile does to display the water is to change the palette (colour 0
to blue) midway down the screen.
From memory it also makes the surface of the water cyan (ie it changes
to cyan for one scan line and then to blue)
I'm also fairly sure that it doesn't keep where it is to character
boundaries.

If anyone can explain how their scheme copes with this, or correct me
about what Exile does, I would be grateful.

cheers,

Mike

ps I just changed my screen routine to intercept writes to the screen
and plot them then and there rather than zapping the whole screen n
times a second. I have to use my old screen code when the screen start
address etc is changed. The speed increase is very worthwhile!
