Subject: monitors & 2nd processors....

I'm not sure that it would be possible to connect a BBC to a VGA
monitor, the main problem is that the scan rate on a VGA is 75 Hz and
a BBC outputs a 50 Hz signal, a CGA monitor on the other hand scans
at 60 Hz and as such is close enough to sync with the BBCs signal.
Mike Cook wrote an article on this for Acorn User (or whatever) which
is on the web somewhere (don't remember where exactly but it can be
searched for!). I was recently trying to get my Electron to work
with an ancient (pre VGA) monitor of unknown specification and seemed to run
into the problem I have just outlined.....I now have some access to a
television to use with my computer so all is not lost :-)

My second point is that I have just aquired a faulty BBC with an
Acorn 6502 2nd processor unit.....assuming I can get a working Beeb
from my 2 faulty ones, what can I do with the co-pro...there is no
documentation with it so I am not sure what use - if any - it might
be.

Bye,

Andrew Paul.
