Subject: XFer new version. Testers asked.

Hi all,

I have written a new version of XFer, my utility for BBC <-> PC
file transfer over a serial cable. As I have (as usual) only
been able to test the program with Acorn DFS 2.23, I am looking
for ppl to test the program with other DFSs.

The new thing is that XFer now also transfers the disk boot
option parameter (*OPT 4,x) to and from a Beeb disk. This
parameter determines how a BBC will handle an !BOOT file
after SHIFT-BREAK and is thus required for full emulation
of a BBC.

This disk boot option parameter is stored in the !BOOT.INF file
with the syntax OPT4=x, where x is the parameter. This is, I think,
in agreement with the conclusion of the discussion of some
time ago on this mailing list.

If you want to test the program, please drop me a line and
I'll send you the new version of XFer.
