Subject: Printer cable

A short while ago on this list I asked about Beeb printer cables.
I was told that the cable that connects the mother board of a PC to the 
case can be used to connect a PC printer cable to the Beeb's printer port.
I have now done this, but while it fits physically OK when it is on
the printer's On Line led goes out, and the printer will do nothing. Even
the drive isn't the energised. The printer & cable work OK from an A3000,
so what is up with the mother-board to case cable? Surely the pin out
wouldn't have changed would it?
