Subject: BBC B E-Mail, NewsNet client software

A friend of mine (a freelance writer) uses an old, and very reliable,
BBC B computer.  He is interested in using E-Mail, and possibly NewsNet,
but has no desire to access the Web.  Therefore I suggested we look for
a service provider that still supported simple terminal access for such
services.  To date the only terminal software I can find for the BBC B
is a port of Kermit which would presumably offer a VT100 terminal
interface.  Therfore I was wondering if anyone knows of the existence of
any better E-Mail / NewsNet client software which had been ported to the
Beeb.
