Subject: Re: Citadel Tips?

Hi there

I am not the author, but was involved in making Citadel run on the Electron.
We
also tried for a while to start up a software (games) company, but with
little
success. I made the game 'Pantheon' for the BBC together with a friend of
mine,
you may have heard of that.

Yes, you could jump onto the title screen by going as far to the right as
possible (out of main castle, across water, up on island, through temple)
bringing a trampoline. Here you can put the trampoline and jump up and down
until jumping as high as possible - then jump to the right as much as you
can -
and you will end up on the title screen!

Some tips:

What you must do: Find all the crowns (seven?) scattered all over the place
and
go to the temple (on the island to the far right) with them. After that you
must
destroy the antenna on the roof (forgot how, but it looks rather
spectacular).
To get all the crowns you need to solve a number of simple tasks and
puzzles.

Simple tasks:
- You have to find keys with the right colour to open doors with the same
colour
(you probably know that already).
- Shoot the munks between their eyes by jumping and pressing space at the
right
time.
- The ice crystal will freeze water (in one place it will allow you to jump
from
the ice up to a platform where you can get a thing you need - a key?).
- Some small cyan-coloured boxes (never figured out what Michael wanted them
to
look like..) can be sacrificed at stone henge (to the far left I believe) to
get
more energy.
- A bucket can be filled with water to put out fire...

More advanced tasks/puzzles:
- Empty the well by gaining access to the room above the well and hit the
switch
(this will allow you to fire a cannon if you bring gunpowder and a
canon-ball).
- Something with a chicken... Find it in the freezer and you must cook it in
the
kitchen (put out fire with water, place chicken, go out and come back - fire
is
back and chicken gets roasted) - hmm, but use for what??
- The witch's house - hmm..? Kill the witch by..?
- The pyramid & something with the egypt-heads found in the castle..?

I just had a look at the game on my pc running a BBC-emul., but there are a
lot
of the advanced puzzles that I have simply forgot about. Any others with
ideas?

Subject: [BBC-Micro] Citadel Tips?

Dear BBC fans,

In my youth I was very fond of the graphical adventure games
such as Jet Set Willy (JSW) for the Spectrum and Citadel for the BBC.
After reading some articles about JSW I finally managed to complete
it. Up to now, though, I have still not finished Citadel. Is there
anyone (possibly even the author) who could give me some tips? I once
read an article implying that it was also possible to jump onto the
title screen. It was obviously not totally clear, since I never
managed it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Stephen.
