Subject: Description of Compact?

Does anyone  know where I can find a website or archive with a detailed   
description of the Compact, how it differed from the Master,   
advantages/disadvantages, physical format, tech spec, etc? The only ones   
I've been able to find have fairly superficial descriptions.
