The BACKUP program supplied with HADFS will do this, as I mentioned in a
previous message:

So to copy an image to a disk, you would do something like
 
Source drive: -adfs-:1.$.DFSImage
Dest drive: 0

I can give it a go.  It would be an extension of some existing software.
