Subject: Images on a BBC
Hi folks,
Well I started the process of copying all my discs to the PC,
however its such a SLOW and tedious job that I've decided there
must be a better way to do it.
Essentially, I'm copy files using Xfer, a disc at a time, to the
PC, then using BBC Explorer to package them up into a .DSD or .SSD
file.
However, its taking in excess of 3-4 hours for 1 disc!! An
additional complication is that I'm using a Challenger 3in1
system, so I cant even hook up a drive to the PC and do it
that way (even if I could, the PC has too new a FDC).
So, my question is this, since the Challenger has a 256K RAM
disc, is there any software that I can use to create the .SSD
files on the *BBC* ? This would make it much easier then I
can create the files on the RAM disc and then Xfer them across.
(a lot of the discs have disc faults and Xfer seems to choke
when copying an entire disc at once).
Thanks for any assistance.
Cheers
Graham
