I think Faraz was joking about converting any new version of Elite to the
Beeb and playing Elite over the net on a BBC.
At least, I hope he was...

PS It was possible for the original Elite to be other than b&w - but it
would have been black and yellow, or black and cyan, or black and green,
or...
