Subject: Viewdata!

Not _strictly_ BBC, but:

Those of you who may remember Viewdata and the days of Prestel, CARBBS, et
al. may be interested to know that I have just finally got my Viewdata
bulletin board working on the Internet.

It's called "Haven", and you can get to it via a web browser running (shock
horror) a Java Viewdata client. Haven talks on a telnet port, but don't try
using a normal telnet client since it does require something which will
talk Viewdata (or at the very least, mode 7 teletext).

Java client is at:
   http://haven.jml.net/java/

Web page about it (including hardware used to gate it) is at:
   http://www.jml.net/haven/

Being presented with a username and password prompt isn't an issue - a la
old Viewdata boards, create yourself a username and password! ;)

Have fun!

J.
