In case you didn't notice, the laugh was sarcastic.

What are you on about "wrong end of the stick"?  I
didn't get the wrong end of the stick.  I never have
the power left on when doing engineering work.  The
thing is, some ICs do short even when not near any
PSU.  I one accidently did that to a 68000.  I awlays
wear gloves when touching the 6502.  I suppose you
have a point  -  if people can handle ROMs with the
bear finger then I suppose it's OK to use a wide
screwdriver.  But the other issue is physical damage
with the edges scraping in the legs.
