Which means you didn't find the comment from Dave amusing and so I was
correct in my original reply.

This is caused by a discharge of static electricity from the body. Not a
short between pins.
Totally different bag of ROM's there.

I never mentioned a screwdriver, but as Chris pointed out it can be a good
alternative to the butter knife.

Yes, well go and buy your little extractor tool and I'll remember not to
