Subject: Getting things straight.....
OK. This all started when I asked about a Master
version of Elite. I was just looking for some way
also to have the A-version of that too because from
what I gathered, the most professional programmers
were not able to assist in engineering such a complex
project. Obviously there neither is the tolerance,
nor the trust here, for any offer of amature help for
BBC software engineering. Either that or maybe I've
given the impression of being pig ignorrant about it
all. Let me straighten a few things:
a) I have some working knowledge of 6502 and BBC
BASIC. Self-taught, and some from college.
b) I know I have still much to learn and partly why I
joined the list was to learn and get some interactive
help.
c) I have NOT joined the list to diss everyone and
everything in here.
d) I am not an egotist.
I wasn't messing about when I was offering as much
help as I could. I meant it, however since now I
think that just might have been an unrealistic when I
rethink about the level of competency I have, I am
truely sorry for any offence and view of patronization
which may have been taken. Folks, so what about the
less complex projects? I only figured also, that I
might learn something from the projects I attempt.
There is little point in creating enemies in a mailing
list, else why join? That's not what I'm about. I
have been trying to figure out what's upsetting so
many people, now I learn more. I guess I was wrong
also in eventually suggesting any atmosphere of
discrimination against an ethnic member, for that I'm
also sorry. This is just a reaction to what suddenly
seemed like a witch-hunt.
I hope we can all get back to co-operatively sharing
out to the list as much skill and knowledge as we can
about them famous Acorn machines, which is what I love
to do. I promise, no more obsurd suggestions OK?
