Subject: Re: BBC Master

Sounds to me like the internal battery has gone, which means your CMOS RAM
settings will have been lost, including the default language and boot
settings.

There was some correspondence on this quite recently. Essentially you have
to re-insert relevant ROMS (e.g. ADFS, BASIC), reconfigure the default
language and file-system

Mike Tomlinson posted a very full reply. He also posted a !Config file which
you can download from http://www.jasper.freeserve.co.uk/diags.zip
as M.!Config, along with many other useful bits'n'bobs:

To restore the configuration, type *EXEC !Config

You can construct this file by typing:

*BUILD !Config

(a '001' will appear)

then type the following in, one line at a time:

*Basic
CLS
*CON. BAUD 7
*CON. NOBOOT
*CON. SHCAPS
*CON. DATA 4
*CON. DELAY 50
*CON. NODIR
*CON. EXTUBE
*CON. FDRIVE 5
*CON. FILE 9
*CON. FLOPPY
*CON. IGNORE 10
*CON. LANG 12
*CON. MODE 7
*CON. NOTUBE
*CON. LOUD
*CON. REPEAT 10
*CON. SCROLL
*CON. TV 0,1
*CON. PRINT 1
*CON. FS 0.254
*CON. PS 0.235
*CON. NOSPACE
*BASIC
FOR rom%=0 TO 15:OSCLI"INSERT "+STR$rom%:NEXT
*FX 151 78 127
CALL !&FFFC

<escape> - disc will whirr
