I built my own a few years ago. There was a stall at a radio rally
selling the Adaptec SCSI-to-ST506 converter boards for a couple of quid
(I don't think they knew what they were) and I managed to lay hands on a
Watford version of the Acorn 1MHz-to-SCSI adapter for free. Made my own
cables and built it all into a dual disc drive case with integral PSU
and a 20Mb Miniscribe MFM drive. Worked a treat, but I found the extra
memory that ADFS takes on a model B (it raises PAGE from &1900 to &1D00)
a pain when running software.
