Quoting from the KLOV entry for Choplifter,
"The history of this game is interesting: Sega licensed it from
Broderbund from an original game for the Apple II computer."
If we are talking about the same game (beeb version) then as far as I
remember, it was never picked up by any of the software houses, but
managed to make it into circulation. Maybe I'm wrong, and it was
actually published by somebody. I remember playing it too, and thinking
how much better than Airlift it was.
Differences I remember are:
- You could kill the escapees by landing on them.
- The helicopter tilted more realistically.
- The tanks could fire at you, at the buildings, at varying angles,
etc.
- The last man waved to you when running into the hospital?
Am I thinking of the same game? I wish I still had my old beeb stuff...
