Subject: Second Processors

Hi all,

This is probably a silly question so I will apologise in advance for it
but ...

What was the point of getting a second processor for a BBC, I guess it
made the computer run faster - but would this make games run too fast.
Was any software specifically written for it (Elite for example).

Did people have 'processor intensive' programs which required the second
processor to speed them up ? I didn't.
