There's a circuit diragram of the keyboard and the connector in the BBC
Advanced User Guide and the Service manual.
A couple of years ago somebody pestered me to make them a 20-foot
extension lead for his BBC keyboard. In utter disbelief I made it for him
totally expecting it not to work over that length. It worked!
I used some 16-way flex from Maplin and a 16-way connector at each end,
and used it in place of the small two-inch keyboard cable. As the
keyboard has 17 lines I ommitted the "cassette LED" signal.
