Subject: Sentinel question

I have a question about the BBC game "The Sentinel" by Firebird: how do you
center on a square in order to absorb energy, or to build
trees/boulders/robots?

I have played PC clones of the game (Sentinel by Psychnosis and a freeware
game Sentry). I both you change your view by using the cursor keys (BBC
game: S/D/L/,) and then pick a square by means of the mouse cursor. How do I
pick a square in the BBC game?
