There's also a hidden message in the Beeb OS 1.2 ROM. I have a program
somewhere to read and display it, which needs you to have a spare copy
of the OS ROM in a ROM socket. This part of the OS ROM is one of the
memory-mapped IO areas called Fred, Jim and Sheila (I can never remember
which is which) and is not accessible while the OS is in its usual
socket, as trying to read from it will instead read from the memory-
mapped I/O area.
The hidden message is stored in the OS ROM starting at offset &3C00, and
reads:
