It doesn't sound like a BBC monitor.  That had a 6 pin DIN connector,
same as the BBC's RGB socket, and the video cable was wired pin-for-pin.

Microvitec made a range of monitors to suit various computers, all in
pretty much the same chassis.  If you can give me the model number off
the back label, complete with a description of the case colour
(black/grey/beige) and the material from which its made (plastic or
metal), I might be able to tell you more.
