Subject: Re: Function Key Strips

Hi Chris,

To the best of my knowledge, the function key strip with the owl and the 'BBC
Microcomputer' text was used up until Issue 4.

The owl was removed, and the text changed to 'British Broadcasting Corporation
Microcomputer' when Acorn and the BBC tried to make their entry into the US
market. It seems that there was already a US company who had trademarked the use
of the letters BBC.

>From looking at the Beebs I still have lying around, all of the Issue 4's have
the owl function key strip, and all the Issue 7's don't.

I'm not sure exactly when the changed occurred, but I think it may have during
1983.

Andy.
