Subject: Re: transfer of files

Hi Toby,

Any chance that your 5.25" ADFS drive could read your Grandad's WDFS
5.25" as a disk image - i.e. by passing the file/directory structure,
and reading the disk sector by sector?

A disk image can then be read directly in a BBC emulator, say BeebEm for
Windows, or you can extract the files using a tool called "bbcim". (I
don't think "BBC Explorer" supports Watford images... ?)

Most ["IBM compatible"] PCs with 5,25" drives have a hard time reading
any BBC disks - I don't really know about Archimedeses, but it's worth a
try.

You should check out http://bbc.nvg.org/software.php3 - that page should
have most of the tools available, also for RISCOS.

Cheers,
Robert Schmidt
