"Computer Concepts" 'Advanced Control Panel' ROM will write to itself, just
in case it's in sideways RAM, to store configuration settings,
& thus, if so, can recall them at a later date (assuming battery back-up)
- this added near 'Master'-like facilities for the BBC 'B'.
I know some ROMs also did this to try & corrupt themselves so they wouldn't
run in sideways RAM as copied ROM images,...
(hence the emergence of 'Write Protect' switches).
