IIRC I suggested this to Chris Richardson about one and a half years ago. He
tried compressing a file to mp3 and then loading it into a BBC and it
worked.
Is this right Chris.

Pretty simple to try really. Simply convert a sampled wave to an MP3,
convert it back and see if it will load.
