Subject: Re: BBC Micro in Romania

Hi,
Here the TV information I have found out.

ROMANIA
Systems D & G
TV System PAL
Lines 625
Freq 50Hz/15.625Khz

Transmission ranges
VHF Ch2 -----> Ch12
UHF Ch21 -----> Ch42

Video Bandwidth
D      6.5MHz
G      8Mhz

Audio Seperation Distance
D      6Mhz
G      5.5Mhz

Our PAL I system we use in the UK should be compatible in RF to PAL System G
PAL I has a 5.5Mhz Audio separation and 5.996Mhz Video Bandwidth.

System G is used on UHF and System D is probably used on VHF.

The video signal from either the C64 BBC or Play station should be outputted
on UHF Channel range Ch 35 to Ch37.

Romania has 2 Government TV Channels and 1 Independent and is report to have
about 4 Million TV sets.

So you will have the check if the TV supports UHF signal and there might be
a switch which converts the audio carrier on the TV.

If all else fail it best to go the scart or phono connecter route.

Its just power regulation you'll have to sort out perhaps you might be able
to track down a power smoother or get one of those sine wave power inverters
which will generate power from batteries.

Chris
