Subject: Ethernet interface and the BBC

Hi,
I have just come across this article from May / June 2001 electronics world
magazine which might be off interest. the article fully quoted on the web
site below. But basically there is a talk and project for linking
peripherals to a old Ethernet controller card and plugging them into a PC
and using an existing network to talk to them. What's included with he
article is circuit diagram and a kit you can send for which will allow you
to interface a RTL8019AS card to a peripheral device and this board contains
a serial port and 8bit ttl interface.

I thought this might be interesting to implement a cheap Ethernet interface
for the BBC. The PIC chip included generate rudimentary IP packets and UDP
or TCP packets or even an invented protocol could be implemented to allow
the BBC to be networked.
