this might be possible on a real bbc.......
the teletext chip has an input which enables character rounding when set, if
one of the CRTC's "unused" pins has been connected to this pin, it may be
possible to remove that voltage by reprogramming the CRTC and turning off
the character rounding. don't quote me on anything though.
As for beebem possibilities, no, its not possible.
On version 1.35 there is no character rounding, the font *always* looks that
naff :)
In the next version, character rounding has been hard-coded, and so can't be
turned off. Also don't put too much faith in its 6845 CRTC emulation :)

Subject: [BBC-Micro] Real BBC Mode 7: uglier font
I remember a couple of programs I had for the BBC B, that made Mode 7 into a
much uglier font, using either VDU or FX commands (probably the former). If
you typed the codes in directly, the screen would shake and the font would
change to something where the characters were slightly more blocky. I can't
remember the combination, does anyone know what I'm talking about? Does it
work on Beebem?
Cheers,
Matt
