I don't use any of the OS's listed there, so can't test it (linux compat
didn't work for this, but maybe as I don't run NS 4.7, oh well).. Could
you make screenshots of some pieces? (bmp/tiff).

A problem could be the patent issues. Haven't checked (licence wise)
what would happen with plugins created from the SDK, I.e. in the worst
case there may not appear a plugin for say 'opera' if the opera people
don't pay up.

Regardsing JPEG and text: At least for the MU, the compression argument
Angus gave does not hold in my tests, mainly because many pages use
coloured/gray background (i.e. pattern background), completely or
partially.
