Subject: Acorn User Test page
Hi,
I visited this website today. I visited earlier this week but I cannot see
the Cover page and Page62. The only thing I got are pages of symbols and
signs.
I appreciate the efforts to scan and make this website very much. But why
not using one of the standards markup languages (H.T.M.L. - X.H.T.M.L. -
X.M.L). For the two last languages you need at least Netscape Navigator 6
or Internet Explorer 5.X). Also another suggestion I want to make, only
scan the magazine photo's in JPEG and scan the tekst with an OCR package.
It has the advantage that your website's size will be smaller which results
in less download time.
I want to make clear that I do not intend to break off this interesting
website, on the contrary I will support it as much as I can. And to be
honest, I cannot do it better. I only want to say that we all shouted for a
standard in Markup language, now we got one and we still use non-standard
packages.
Within a few weeks, I will copy an article of Acorn User in XHTML and send
it to this website. In the meantime, I wish you very much success with this
site and I hope that many people will visit it and make their constructive
input. Very good idea, keep up the good work and let us join together on
this very interesting project.
With friendly greetings,
Chrissy
