Subject: BEEB Stuff
Has any one read Micromart Recently? They might be interested that a series
on 8-bit computers including the BEEB is running at the moment.
Has anyone noticed that the analogue Mode 7 style teletext is being
replaced by the 'jazzy' PC style slow 'interative text' service on Sky
Digital. While it is quite neat that you can watch say 4 views of the big
brother house on E4, you cannot for example watch the news along side the
football results on BBC1. Whether this is a bug I don't know, as you can
still hear the sound.
If you happen to own a nokia 3310 or 3330, you will find they have
programmed acornsoft-style defender games into the phones and of course
most people will know where 'snake' originated from!
I have changed my signature to ASCII just for this posting as usually I
have some neat HTML links.
I am not an outlook fan though and I swear by Eudora.
Has anyone developed or is thinking about developing BEEB games or BEEB
emulators (e.g. BBC Basic) for the Psion. I have a Psion 3a and I think
there was such a thing at one time as the 'Acorn Pocket Book'- has anybody
got one? Does this have BBC Basic.
thanks
George
