Ahh-ha a sane person....thank goodness for that. well done

I've come back from holiday to find my mail box full of crap

my comment follows.

A lot of you come across as self righteous bumptious know-it-alls.

Totally un-approachable for advice for the majority of us silent watchers of
this list, the guys like me who had/have BBC computers but tended to use
them with the lid on wrote little programs to make strange noises played
games and still used tape in 1987

not everyone knows the intricate details of the inner workings of a BBC but
the snide remarks and one-upmanship some of you use to prove to the rest of
us that you do is pathetic, especially as it is patently obvious from your
post that you do.

Yes we may learn from what is posted here but to be able to ask questions
without the danger of sarcastic comments would be handy.

and the little pearls of wisdom you use as signatures.....?

and the constant ranting about nothing in particular....jpgs tiffs I don't
care as
long as I can read it.

now I think this is plain text but frankly I'm quietly hoping that it is
stuffed full of something big and nasty so it take hours for you to download
on your 9600 baud modems

ttfn

Dave

or should I have put this at the bottom??

witty or not so witty comment
witty or not so witty comment
witty or not so witty comment
witty or not so witty comment

Having been reading this post for the last few days I can't believe that
people are getting so wound up about such a trivial matter, in addition it
is fairly off topic for a BBC Micro discussion group! I personally work
with both UNIX and Microsoft products and don't actually care whether people
put their replies at the top or bottom of an e-mail as long as it is
relevant and doesn't include lots of un-nessary quotation.

Can we all drop this subject and return to discussing our normal BBC related
material before this decends into a Microsoft vs Rest of the World pissing
match. If someone does put their reply at the top of a message leave them
alone, it's not the end of the world and certainly isn't in any etiquette
guide.

Thanks

Gary
