Subject: XFER in C question

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the list, so apologies if this question has been asked before.

I've managed to get XFER in C working for a PC<->BBC connection (miraculous,
if you could see the wiring :)) )...my question is, how can I transfer files
to the BBC? I've tried converting UEF tape files to .inf's and the
individual files, and some seem to send okay, but they won't run when I try
to CHAIN them from the floppy disc (probably 'cause they are tape files?).

Similarly, I've used BBC Explorer to extract the individual files from a
ssd disc image, then tried sending them, but XFER just sat there doing
nothing.

What is the proven method (if any) of doing this? What am I doing wrong?
Hope someone can save me from a lifetime of tape loading!

Thanks!

Dan
