I used to use any old power pack I could find for my Electron after the
original PSU blew up.  If I remember right, it used an AC 18V supply (it had
some kind of on-board voltage regulator I believe), so you probably won't
have to worry about voltage and polarity too much.

Of course, of your Elk explodes don't blame me :))

Anybody has an idea, as to how I can build a suitable Power Supply for it?
