Anyway, just thought I'd add that I got to the bottom of the whereabouts of
the R5 adjust, and it definitely does seem to happen at the very end of the
cycle, as everyone said.  The reason I was getting different results when I
was setting R5 before or after the VSync?  Just stupidity; was a stupid bug
where I was incrementing the scroll counters in the wrong place.  D'oh.
