Subject: BBC Domesday on the telly
On Wednesday JISC (Joint Information Systems Commitee) is holding a press
launch for the Digital Preservation Coalition
(http://www.jisc.ac.uk/dner/preservation/prescoalition.html).
As part of the launch I produced a press release describing BBC Domesday as
an example of the loss of digital materials thru hardware and software
obsolecence (and hence the need for digital preservation work).
Nick Higham, the Arts correspondent at the BBC has picked up on this (I
believe he worked on Domesday back in the eighties) and will I believe be
interviewing me and filming BBC Domesday for a slot on BBC news on Wednesday!
I imagine its the kind of report that won't be on if theres lots of heavier
news items going down that day, but keep an eye out in case Domesday gets a
showing *:-)
