Hi Matt,

I guess it could be the problem .. the DFS ROM in the BBC has a rather
unknown history (it's a duplicate of something or other)

After much playing about I came to the same conclusion as you, but found
that http://www.1-4a.com/rename/ helped a lot (a freeware program that will
bulk rename files).

In the end I gave up and used 'xfer -1' to transfer over the BBC Basic
program from here: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/~ucapwas/bbc/ which then
successfully transfers disk images to the PC via the functional, but
terrible, interface application.

Once in, I'm using BBC Explorer to convert from single sided images (which
is all it will grab) to double sided ones.

After everything is over I'll trawl through and see if there are any gems
lurking on the disks that aren't in the TBL! or The Stairway archives.

Thanks to all for the help,
Chris.
