Subject: Beebem too slow? You could try this. Works for me.

Hi all,

I had the slow problems running Beebem.

I found V1.03 worked fine but V1.35, 1.4 & 1.41 all ran far too slow. I
thought it must just be me but after reading the message on the
mailing list I thought I would investigate.

To cut a long story short I can run them all at full speed on my PC if:
I restart the PC.
CTRL/ALT/DEL and shut down the IEXPLORE task.
Then start Beebem and it runs fine for me.

I had not considered closing the IEXPLORE task before as I suspected the
computer would not run without it as it was run at startup. (I have not
found out where it is launched yet though).

A strange thing is if I try to run Beebem 1.41 with Iexplore running and
then close Iexplore it does not cause Bebbem to run any faster, the computer
must be restarted and then close Iexplore then start Beebem.

I hope this may be of use in solving other peoples problems.

Beebem 1.41 is now running at about 25fps now. (A PII 400Mhz with TNT2)
