Subject: BBC novice

I'm a BBC novice,  I run my master 128 and a funky old UMI MIDI sequencer.
 I currently purchased a floppy drive and have I few questions that I hope
someone on this list could please help me answer.

1. What is the command for formatting a floppy? 
2. What is the command to see a disk's dir?
3. I keep getting " Disk Fault 18 at :0 01/00" whats that all about?
