Subject: solidisk dfdc + dual drives

Tried to get the dfdc working with dual drives. First off, lots of
problems with roms that don't seem to work (from http://bbc.nvg.org/),
e.g. DFS-8271-1770-2.1.rom, DFS-1770-2.2D.rom. With a working rom taken
from a machine with soli's standard DDFS it works, but only for the
first drive. *CAT 1 or *CAT 3 causes both floppy leds to light up (and
both discs spin), then a disk fault. Checking the dfdc pcb, pin 2 of the
8271 (disk SEL 0) is not connected, on either the 8271 socket itself or
the socket that plugs into the original 8271 socket on the BBC's pcb.
Does this mean the dfdc can't handle dual drives, or am I missing
something? (oh yes, this problem occurs in both 1770 and 8271 mode, and
the disk drives themselves work perfectly on another computer).
